Sept 3 Pod Shapes Sketch

Brought my paints to Good Harbor Beach so I could be with the crowd. I'm playing with shapes and color. I started out trying to go with the dried Pod colors but I ended up adding high contrast color.
This piece is acrylic on paper and is 12 inch square.

Sept 1 Foxglove Seed Pods

Here we go, Day 1 of the Leslie Saeta 30 paintings in 30 days Challenge.
So far I have posted my image with my name spelled wrong and posted with the incorrect blog address. No, this isn't my first time participating in this challenge. I do get so excited that I rush and then make mistakes. Yes, I am excited about this 30/30 challenge because my paintings always improve by the time I'm finished.
I've been working on Pod Paintings all summer. I will continue this them for the month.
This piece, Foxglove Seed Pods, is acrylic on paper and is 12 inches square.

July 16 Lupine Pods

This painting represents the early part of a series made in Bristol, Maine.
The series is inspired by Lupine Pods which are left after the Lupine flower fades.
They are bold and prominent which I love. They are dramatic in the garden.

Day10 South Manitou Island from North Manitou Island

View of South Manitou Island from North Manitou Island where we were backpacking.
This was a fabulous day, it was warm and sunny.  We swam, painted and read books. Later in the afternoon the weather changed, the wind steadily picked up as did the waves. by the evening we moved our tents further into the island. That night I barely slept because of the howling wind. I was sure that our packs which are stored outside the small tents would be gone. Happily they were all in place and all was well with the world.
Acrylic on hardboard 7" x 7".

Day 7 - Lost in Northport

Stop the car! I have to take a photo o those clouds. Have you ever said that? This was one of those days. The sky was a brilliant blue color and the clouds were magnificent.
Acrylic on hardboard 8"x 8".

Day 6 - Looking South from Elberta Beach

It was late September and we bundled up against the wind. I did paint while we were there but this piece was made from a photo taken that day. We weren't the only ones on the beach. Michiganders are hail and hardy.
Acrylic on hardboard 8"x 8".

Day 5

Day 5
This piece started out to be a different landscape. It wasn't working out I keep painting I could see my thumbnail sketch from Day 3. I superimposed the trees from that sketch onto today's piece.

Day 4 Empire Dunes

We're keeping up. Day 4 and we have 4 paintings. If I just keep painting I know they will improve! After all that is the goal. This view shows Empire Dunes. They are the west side of Michigan. It is a favorite area of mine. Acrylic on hardboard 8"x8".

Day 2, 2017 Cedar Sights

I find writing about my work the hardest part. I was drawn to the almost ultramarine blue color of the hills in the background. Then I noticed the contrast of the wheat field in the foreground. I love contrast, so there we go, a painting waiting to happen!
This piece is 8" X 8" on hard board in acrylic.

January 1, Day 1 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge

Here we go.
Day 1 of the 30/30 challenge. I've chosen another landscape theme. This time it's my home state of Michigan. This piece is 8" X 8". It's on hardboard. This piece is a bit more abstract, and it looks somewhat retro. Let's see where we go.
